Most business card finishes - gloss, matte, foil - are applied to the printed surface after the design is set. Pearl business cards work differently: the shimmer is a property of the 320gsm Pearl White card stock itself, so the sheen is consistent across the whole card rather than limited to specific printed areas. That is the real reason a pearl card reads differently in the hand to a standard card with a decorative finish added on top - the material itself does the work, which is also why the effect holds up evenly regardless of what the printed design covers.
Deluxe Printing produces pearl business cards in-house at our Al Qusais facility, on the same 320gsm Pearl White stock throughout the range, so the finish is consistent from a single card to a full reorder.
The shimmer effect is most visible as the card catches light at an angle - held flat under office lighting, it reads as a clean white card, but tilted slightly it shows a subtle sheen that a standard card does not have. This makes it a considered choice for a card meant to be handed over deliberately, where the recipient is likely to notice the card itself rather than only read the printed details. It is a more understated effect than a metallic foil accent, which sits on top of specific printed elements rather than across the whole card surface.
Printing on this card uses CMYK color, and any Pantone color submitted in a design is automatically converted to CMYK rather than printed as a true spot color, a genuine limitation worth confirming before ordering if exact brand-color matching is required. Color can also vary slightly between what appears on screen and the finished printed card, and between print runs, so an exact match to an existing business card is not guaranteed. For a business needing true Pantone ink matching, the Textured/Offset business card line uses actual Pantone ink rather than a CMYK conversion.
