The standard business card size is 3.5 x 2 inches (88.9 x 50.8mm), the size most templates, wallets and card holders are built around. Common fonts used on business cards include Helvetica, Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri and Futura, chosen for legibility at small sizes rather than for decorative effect. Getting these two basics right - correct size, a legible font - matters more to how a card is actually used than any finish choice, since a card that does not fit a standard holder or is hard to read defeats the purpose regardless of paper quality.
