Printing directly onto clear vinyl without a white base means the surface behind the sticker shows through the coloured areas as well as the transparent ones, so a design meant to look bold and opaque instead reads as faded or inconsistent, especially on dark backgrounds. White ink solves that problem: printed beneath the design, it gives color a solid, opaque base, so the sticker looks the same whether applied to a light surface, a dark surface, or glass.
